14 Weeks Pregnant

By 14th week of pregnancy, your baby will become the size of a pear and weighs about 70 grams. As most of his facial muscles are developed by now, he can now make several facial expressions such as scowling or frowning. Though, extremely small in size, he looks pretty much like a baby.
Development in 14th Week Pregnancy
During the 14th week, the thyroid gland of your baby begins to release hormones. External genitalia keep developing during this week and become more prominent that you can observe them through ultrasound scan. In case of a baby boy, the prostate gland develops, while for baby girl, the ovaries shaped into the pelvis. The bone structure of the baby is getting ossify or harder and strengthened. Your baby has non-functional taste buds as well.
Appearance in 14th Week Pregnancy
Up till now the neck of your baby is long enough, chin is pretty much distinct along with the more definite shape of the head and face. The eyes are more into position now and remain covered with eyelids till 28th week. Light eyebrows also appear on the eyes. The nose begins to take its form and ears also becoming higher on his head.
Movement in 14th Week Pregnancy
With every passing week the movements of your baby become more and more. Amniotic fluid provides enough space to him to exercise his muscles which help him becoming stronger and healthier. Hand movements, head movements, kicking and twisting of arms and legs clenching and unclenching of fists are some prominent movements that your baby makes. However, you are not yet aware of all these movements inside you. He develops the sessions of sleep and awake and even putting his thumb into his mouth as well.
