By the time your pregnancy reach 27th week, your baby will now weigh around 1 kilogram. At this stage, your baby is more probably resting in the uterus in a bottom-down position or in transverse position in the womb. However, he can anytime shift to head-down position from now onwards to prepare himself for the birth. He may turn his position by the end of the pregnancy period.

The development of the baby still continues as his muscles, bones, and other organs are constantly growing and strengthening with every passing day. At this stage, the birth of your baby concludes that he has 85% chance to live on. But he has to live under high medical care with ventilators and incubators as his lungs are not yet capable of breathing or keeping your baby warm. Also, his immune system as this stage is also not as strong to hold the infections back.
